MEIN HERZ BRENNT - PIANO VERSION (2012) Mein Herz brennt was the only song on the Made in Germany album that had not previously been released as a single. The Mutter song got its renaissance in 2012, though the piano version of the song, arranged by Sven Helbig, was the first track on the single release. Since 2011, the band had worked on a music video for the song. Initially, it was to be directed by Eugenio Recuenco, who had previously done two photo shoots for Rammstein: One for Amerika, and one for Liebe ist für alle da. While the imagery was beautiful, the band felt like the dramaturgy was missing from the video, and in 2012, they brought in Zoran Bihac to record some more footage to try to save the video. «It’s a bit like the Euro relief fund - before it fails completely, we’re pumping some more in», said Paul Landers in the Making of. As Zoran Bihac was shooting the new scenes, a short power failure happened. During this break, he recorded Till singing the piano version of the song, alone. The band found the video brilliant, and they decided to release it as a separate video for the Mein Herz brennt piano version. The video was released 7. Going to Germany for today's prompt! Started in 1996, Rammstein are an industrial metal band with leanings towards a sound called Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardness in English). 

You've probably heard at least one of their big hits somewhere. 'Du Hast', 'Sonne' and 'Engel' have all been used in some sort of mainstream capacity as have others, like 'Mein Herz Brennt' and 'Feuer Frei' in that classic film, xXx...

Speaking of Mein Herz Brennt, that's actually the inspiration for today's piece. The video, like all of their videos, is... interesting. Leaning more towards a weird surreal short horror starring lead vocalist, Till Lindemann as a sinister figure stalking the Beelitz-Heilstätten, occasionally becoming this weird insect-like figure with a long black head and fingers. I think he's meant to be the Sandman? Either way, I thought it was a cool visual!

Everyone's talking about which RZK era or outfit is the best but no one ever mentions the wing outfit in Mein Herz Brent!

I love asks that make me go look up old stuff 🥰 and i just realised it's been a long time agon since i watched the MHB video... i watch the 'making of' a lot ofter 😊 (i'm the same with Haifisch by the way 😇)

Anyway, i checked it out, but it's a bit difficult to make out...is this the one you mean?

i can't find a good photo right now of Richard's entire outfit, but that color aesthetic was totally him... ❤️🖤

(which reminds me that at some point i should do an appreciation post on his new long coat with the red lining...because that is amazing on him too 🔥🔥)
